Science Club
Posted on 04/12/2018

The science club encourages all students, faculty, and families to recycle and to conserve water and energy. The science club is engaged in a project that involves collecting and weighing the amount of recyclable materials before they are transported from our school. The students aim to demonstrate how our community can make a difference by reporting how much volume and weight is avoided in landfills.

Please consider the following for conserving water and energy:

  1. Shut off the water while brushing your teeth.
  2. Turn off all electrical appliances when you are done using them.
  3. Don’t take a long bath, take a short shower instead. It might take 25 gallons of hot water to fill a bathtub, compared to only seven gallons for a quick shower.
  4. Don’t leave the refrigerator door open.
  5. Lower the thermostat during the winter.
  6. Replace a burnt-out light bulb with a new compact fluorescent bulb. Fluorescent bulbs use 10 percent less energy.
